GA4 and conversion tracking setup

Many analytics setups count the wrong things: page views as conversions, leads twice, purchases not at all. We set up GA4 and Google Tag Manager so every lead, call and sale is recorded once, respects consent, and flows into Google Ads.

Timeline

Typical price
$700 – $3,000

One-time. Small sites with a contact form sit at the low end; ecommerce, multiple domains or server-side tagging at the high end.

This is for you if

  • You run Google Ads or SEO but can't say which campaign produced a customer.
  • Your GA4 and Google Ads numbers disagree and nobody knows why.
  • You are launching or rebuilding a site and want measurement right from day one.

What you get

  • Measurement plan

A short document listing your business goals, the events that prove them and how each is named, so reports stay readable.

  • GA4 property configured

Data retention, internal traffic and unwanted-referral filters, cross-domain setup, key events and audiences.

  • Google Tag Manager container

Clean tags, triggers and variables for forms, calls, email clicks, bookings and purchases, with a naming convention.

  • Google Ads conversions

Primary and secondary conversions, enhanced conversions where possible, and GA4 linked for audiences.

  • Consent Mode v2

Your cookie banner wired to Google's consent signals so EU visitors are measured lawfully.

  • Verification report

Every event tested in DebugView and Tag Assistant, with screenshots, so you can see that one lead creates exactly one conversion.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Audit

Review the current GA4, GTM and Google Ads setup and list what is broken, missing or double-counted.

  2. Step 2

    Plan

Agree on the measurement plan: which actions matter and what each is worth.

  3. Step 3

    Implement

Build the tags, configure GA4 and Google Ads, connect consent.

  4. Step 4

    Verify and hand over

Test every conversion end to end, then walk you through the reports and the documentation.

Not included

  • Ad spend and campaign management
  • Writing your privacy policy (we wire the banner, your lawyer approves the text)
  • Custom data warehouse work beyond the free BigQuery export

Questions

Do I need Google Tag Manager?

For anything beyond a page-view count, yes. GTM keeps tracking out of your site code, so changes don't need a developer and every tag is documented in one place.

Can you fix an existing setup instead of starting over?

Usually. The audit shows whether the current property and container can be cleaned up or whether a fresh, documented setup is cheaper.

Will this work with my cookie banner?

Most consent platforms support Google Consent Mode v2. If yours does not, we recommend one that does and connect it.

What access do you need?

Editor access to GA4, publish access to GTM, and admin or standard access to Google Ads. You keep ownership of every account.
