Conversion tracking setup for Google Ads and GA4

When conversions are double-counted, missing or mislabelled, smart bidding optimises for the wrong thing and reports stop meaning anything. We build conversion tracking in Google Tag Manager that counts each lead and sale once, passes it to GA4 and Google Ads, and survives consent rules and ad blockers as far as the platforms allow.

Typical price
$900 – $2,500

One-time. Server-side tagging adds hosting costs that you pay directly, usually a small monthly amount.

This is for you if

  • Google Ads shows more conversions than you actually received, or fewer.
  • Leads come by form, phone and email, and only some are tracked.
  • You want enhanced conversions or server-side tagging but don't know where to start.

What you get

  • Conversion audit

Every existing tag, trigger and conversion action checked for duplicates and gaps.

  • Clean GTM container

Tags, triggers and variables rebuilt or cleaned with a naming convention and version notes.

  • Google Ads conversions

Primary and secondary actions set correctly, with values where they make sense.

  • Enhanced conversions

Hashed first-party data from your forms sent to Google Ads to improve match rates.

  • Consent Mode v2

Your consent banner wired to Google's consent signals.

  • Server-side option

A server-side GTM container on your own subdomain, when the volume and budget justify it.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Audit

Map every conversion path and every current tag.

  2. Step 2

    Plan

Agree which actions count, and what each is worth.

  3. Step 3

    Build

Implement in GTM, GA4 and Google Ads.

  4. Step 4

    Verify

Test each conversion end to end and reconcile with real leads.

Not included

  • Ad campaign management
  • CRM development
  • Hosting fees for a server-side container

Questions

What are enhanced conversions?

A Google Ads feature that sends hashed customer data, such as an email address from a form, with the conversion, so Google can match more conversions to ad clicks.

Do I need server-side tagging?

Not always. It helps with data control and some browser restrictions, but adds cost and maintenance. We recommend it when ad spend or data requirements justify it.

Can phone calls be tracked?

Yes. Clicks on phone numbers can be tracked on the site, and calls from ads can be tracked with Google's call reporting or a call tracking tool.
